All is Well

I finally sent off for my passport renewal today which I hope to have back in 2-3 weeks. I can't go anywhere without that so I used the express renewal option. We'll see.

On Thursday, I received a nice email from the GC project manager, Maggie Doyle, who also included a recommendation letter for my fundraising effort. I didn't even ask for this so it's nice to know they really try and help their volunteers however possible. I look forward to joining them even more now knowing they have our best interests in mind as well.

My friends aren't completely 100% yet so I still want to hold off on those announcements. There are details to work out when you want to go to Sri Lanka! I should be able to report the final tally in a few days though and I'm sure I'll have at least 1 if not 2 join me.

I received my first donation from my sister and brother-in-law the other day. It was unexpected and a bit humbling. They've been through so much this past year and still find room to give and that kind of giving spirit was the perfect way to start our reconstruction effort.

This week I'll start my education on immunizations, where to get them, how much and where the needle goes.
